Well, Bout of Books 6.0 is over but it was such a fun experience! The only goal that I was able to meet this week was to read 10 books (read my original goals here) though I did manage to get 3 reviews already posted and I know the dates for the other reviews. I ended up severely spraining my ankle this past week which threw off my schedule because I was taking time to focus on healing. I’m not mad that I wasn’t able to complete all 4 goals, it just shows that real life can intervene at anytime and you have to be prepared. I took Friday completely off because I was exhausted but I don’t regret it at all. I was able to make up for that no-reading day over the weekend and read 5 books to make my total book count goal.
In total I read 10 books, 1 short story, and DNF’d 1 book for a total of 12 books for the entire week. That’s way more than I’m used to (I usually get about 3 maybe 4 a week) so I’m super excited that I pushed myself. As it is, I’m 11 books (7%) ahead of my yearly 150 book total and I’m on a roll.
While I had a list of books I wanted to read this week I made some adjustments as I went along. Some days the books on my list just didn’t grab me and I had to add Altered because it’s part of an ARC tour and needed to be read and mailed off by this coming Tuesday. Either way, I’m happy with the books I selected this week because they were from a wide range of genres.
